Lost family photos 21 February 2011 - 1:04:55pm
Yesterday, Jody Wallcraft, a member of this website and a Williamson descendant, lost a box full of family photos and documents that fell out of the back of her father's truck. You can imagine her devastation at having lost her important family records.
A good samaritan by the name of Dave Brooks found them along the roadside and took them home with him. In the box he found a document that referred to Madeline Brunt (1910-2007), and had the presence of mind to google her name. That's how he found this website and contacted me with the details. I searched for Madeline Brunt's descendants and recognized Jody Wallcraft's name as she had only recently become a member of this site.
Jody is now in contact with the good samaritan and will soon be in possession of her documents.
Thanks go to Dave Brooks and June (Williamson) James who was the source of most of the Williamson genealogical information.
The lost Noppers 16 January 2010 - 11:46:39am
After some 20 odd years of searching, finally made contact with the Nopper descendants who emigrated from Germany to the US around the turn of the century. A lot of researching, gap filling, guessing, assumptions and many disappointing phone calls later, I finally found my father's two 1st cousins living in California where my great-grandmother had emigrated to before World War I.
